Everything we claim, where it comes from, and what is still being verified. We publish methods and numbers as they are confirmed — honestly, with no inflated promises. This page is the single place to hold us to that.

What the field has shown

The SCIT trials, Chirumanzu.

PCAT BLOCK C was developed by Power Conservation Ag Clinic Trust (PCAT) over more than a decade and incubated at the Harare Institute of Technology. Its proving ground was the SCIT conservation-irrigation project in Chirumanzu, where the compost served as the soil-and-moisture core of the system.

On those trial plots, the integrated system — Block C compost, planting-station potholes and precision spot irrigation — reached up to 18 t/ha of maize, far above typical smallholder yields, with Block C as its soil-and-moisture core. That figure is a field result from the project, not a marketing projection, and the full write-up publishes alongside our lab data.

Scope note: the SCIT validation covers maize, soya and horticulture. We don't make claims for tobacco or potato programmes — if that's your rotation, talk to us and we'll be straight about what we do and don't yet have data for.

Who stands behind it
PCAT — the technology owner

Power Conservation Ag Clinic Trust (PCAT) developed PCAT BLOCK C and owns the technology. The compost is made in Zimbabwe, from local inputs, for Zimbabwean soils — no imported raw materials, no forex exposure.

HIT — the scientific standard

Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) — Dept. of Environmental Management upholds the scientific standards behind the product. Governed by a signed MOU: PCAT owns the technology; HIT upholds the science. HIT is not a seller or endorser — its role is the science.

Our publishing commitments
  1. Numbers before adjectives. Every measurable claim on this site is either cited, shown in a trial table, or explicitly marked as in verification.
  2. Sources on every guide. All Knowledge Hub articles carry a sources block — institutional and peer-reviewed references first.
  3. No claims ahead of data. We don't list crops (like tobacco or potatoes) that our validation doesn't cover, and we don't invent application rates where none are published.
  4. Unedited lab results. When the independent analysis returns, it goes up as received — including anything unflattering.
  5. Visible corrections. If we get something wrong, we fix it on the page and say so.
