Power Conservation Ag Clinic Trust (PCAT) is turning African agriculture into a business through modern technology. In partnership with Harare Institute of Technology (HIT) — Dept. of Environmental Management, the science is held to global best practice. Governed by a signed MOU: PCAT owns the technology; HIT upholds the science.

Our first product, PCAT BLOCK C Organic Compost, took more than a decade to develop. It grew out of SCIT — Scientific Conservation Irrigation Technology — a spot-irrigation system built by PCAT engineer and HIT lead researcher Joseph Ngirande over eight years, in which compost-filled planting stations hold and release moisture. On the Chirumanzu experimental plots that integrated system reached up to 18 tonnes of maize per hectare, as reported by The Herald in 2019. Independent laboratory verification of the full nutrient profile is under way — we publish results the moment they return, unedited.

Alongside the product we run the Knowledge Hub — free, fully-sourced growing guides written for Zimbabwe's soils and seasons. The knowledge is free for every farmer, whether you buy from us or not. That is the deal.
